1075 aides appointed in 24 hours by Taraba State governor

The governor had already authorized 195 appointments prior to the current ones, all of whom have not yet been assigned portfolios.

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has appointed no fewer than 1075 aides within 24 hours.

The appointees will hold positions as members of Taraba State government boards, commissions, and agencies, or as special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, constituency special assistants, and community special assistants.

Chief Gebon Kataps, the Secretary to the Government of the State, signed a statement that contained this information and was given to news reporters.

The governor had already authorized 195 appointments prior to the current ones, all of whom have not yet been assigned portfolios.

There are currently 1270 aides working for the governor in total.

Kefas also has 22 Commissioners and had earlier appointed five Special Advisers with portfolios in his cabinet.

This is coming at a time when there are calls from various quarters for a reduction in the cost of governance.

However, opposition parties in the state are yet to react to the latest developments.
