An Open Letter To The Youth Of Nowadays -By Ridwanullahi Ibn Abdulllahi

The main reason for writing this piece of write up is to advise the young men and women of nowadays and to enlighten them on the path they can follow to be successful in the future.

Dear young men and young women, when are you going to wake up from your slumber? Let me start with young ladies whose life has been attached to life materials, I want to let you know that, this time is not the normal period for you to be writing or reading love letters before you sleep; this is the right time for you to plan your future, your ambition and try to pen down and organize all that you want to achieve in life in order to come into reality.

Dear beautiful damsel, this is not the right time to show off your beauty by using heavy makeup and expensive designers, do not dress seductively to call the attention of your opposite sex to you. There is time for everything, if you play at the time you are supposed to read, you may eventually regret it.

Don’t be too hurry to lick hot soup because your tongue will surely suffer for it. Life is not waiting for anybody, wait for your own time, and do not give out the natural endowment that God has given to you without lawful justification i.e without ‘Lawful marriage’. Work hard and concentrate on your studies, if you are serious and responsible, the right man will surely come for you.

The money that I have for you is the advice I am giving you now, do not use your youthful age to go for a party every day; Your parents sent you to school to face your studies and not to be following bad gangs. Use your precious time to attend class regularly and read your book because that’s your primary assignment for being in a tertiary institution.

Your life is in your hand; the ball is in your court, you can dribble it the way you like. This means that your future remains in your hand and it’s at your discretional power to either prepare very well for your future; for you to be successful in all your endeavor or you should follow the other part which will disrupt your future. I am advising you to go for the former because that’s the only way to follow for you not to regret your actions.

It would be absurd if I decide not to advise my fellow young men of nowadays whose main life is to be chasing ladies around every day. Some young guys have turned themselves to romantic writers; they devoted their time to be writing romantic messages to young ladies at the time they are supposed to be preparing for their future. The time you are supposed to plan your future, you are busy chasing ladies who will disrupt your aims and objectives to be successful in life.

Life is not about taking your whole days to follow the celebrities on social media such as Twitter, Instagram, Whatapp, and Facebook, you don’t know more than talking about how Odunlade Adekola wears expensive clothes and how Funke Akindele was arrested for violating social distance rules. You see, those celebrities have made it in life. Make your life better, use your brain, and plan your future now, so that you can also become a role model for the upcoming generation.

Do not misuse the opportunity you have now, abstain from joining bad gangs and cultism that will cause destruction to your life and your future. You want to be a lion on Campus; you want to be a commander in your tertiary institution, you now decide to join the cult members. The bitter truth is that, although, you will enjoy your stay on Campus but they may come for your life anytime after your graduation; so be wise and decide wisely.

Lastly, if you have the intention to be successful in life, you have to apply a formula P5 which are: be prayerful; Prepare for your future; Prevent yourself from any distraction and procrastination and stay away from poor performance. Procrastination is an instrument of regression; your focus and determination are the keys to attain and obtain success in this life.
