How a Father, 50-year-old daughter beheaded in Delta over land dispute

According to Edafe, vigilantes apprehended a man identified as Emeke, who was found in possession of two human heads. He was lynched and set ablaze by an angry mob. The recovered heads were confirmed to belong to the father and daughter.

A 70-year-old man simply identified as Mr. Aghanti, and his 50-year-old daughter identified as Mrs. Atagoshi have been beheaded over a land dispute in the Amai community, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.

The victims were said to have been lured into the bush by a suspect who pretended to want to resolve the land issue. Their headless bodies were later discovered in the area.

Mrs. Atagoshi, a secondary school teacher, earlier reportedly purchased a piece of land in the community that became a subject of contention.

Explaining to journalists, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said, “The suspect called the woman, saying he wanted to discuss the land issue. He then took her and her father into the bush, killed them, and beheaded them.”

The Delta police spokesman added that the main suspect remains at large and police efforts are underway to apprehend him.
