How Christians Treat Blasphemy -By Joseph Ibekwe

Christians believe that it is only a weak god that will allow the followers to kill other people that blasphems him. The God of the Christians is strong enough to take revenge if He so desires. The fact is that the God of the Christians is a God of mercy. And mercy over rules offenses.

It is blasphemy to say JESUS Christ is a Prophet according to the Holy Bible. Jesus is NOT a Prophet. He is not one of the prophets. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is God! He operated in the spirit of prophecy. If you don’t believe this, that’s not a problem. But don’t refer to Him as one of the Prophets. That is a blasphemy against His person.

Anytime you hear anyone refer to Jesus as one of the Prophets or as a Prophet, please kindly stop the person and give the correction and remind the person that it is a “blasphemy” to call Jesus a Prophet.

Jesus Christ died on the cross. He was buried and rose again from the dead. It’s a blasphemy to say and teach others that Jesus did not die on the cross and that he did not rise from the dead.

Thankfully, Christians don’t stone or kill anyone that blasphems the Lord Jesus Christ. The reason is that Christians live by the *law of love* , not law of hate and revenge. Christians believe that their God is able to fight for himself and to defend himself, whenever he is blasphemed.

Christians believe that it is only a weak god that will allow the followers to kill other people that blasphems him. The God of the Christians is strong enough to take revenge if He so desires. The fact is that the God of the Christians is a God of mercy. And mercy over rules offenses. That is one of the reasons Christians don’t take laws into their own hands to fight anyone who blasphems their God and Lord Jesus Christ. Though they don’t kill, maim or hate anyone that blasphems against Jesus Christ, they actually pray for such blasphemers, with the understanding that they don’t know what they are doing. Love is the centre of Christianity. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son (Jesus Christ) that whosever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16.

Love saves. Love nurtures. Love forgives. Love builds and does not destroy life or property.
