Among the professors on the list of academic applicants were John Agbonika, Osy Nwebo, and Nlerum Okogbule.

A statement by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Secretary of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, Hajo Bello, stressed that the publication of the shortlisted applicants’ names does not indicate their success in the process.

He urged the general public to comment on the integrity, reputation, and competence of the shortlisted applicants.
