UNICAL VC Appoints New HODs
The Vice-Chancellor charged the new HODs to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties as well as effective administration of their various Departments for optimal productivity.
In a bid to deliver on her mandate, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi has appointed new acting Heads of Departments( HODs).
The latest appointments conveyed in a letter dated October 6, 2022 and signed by the Vice Chancellor indicate that Dr James Otoburu Okpiliya has been appointed as acting Head, of the Department of English and Literary Studies while Dr Thomas A. Agbe mounts the saddle as acting Head, the Department of Statistics.
In the same vein, the Vice Chancellor also appointed Dr James A. Ugboh as acting Head, of the Department of Mathematics while Dr Surv. Gertrude Nnanjar Njar is still at the helm of affairs as acting Head, of the Department of Surveying & Geoinformatics.
According to the letter, Dr Robert W.C Nwaguma was also appointed as acting Head, of the Department of Architecture and Dr. ( Mrs) Eme. J.Effiong as acting Head, Department of Accounting.
The new appointments also indicate that Dr Simon K. Ajom takes charge as acting Head, of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Dr Eyo. E. Essien as acting Head, Department of Marketing.
The appointments, according to the letter, are for two years in the first instance, with effect from 1st October 2022 to 30th September 2024.
